2006 Calendar Well, January has come and gone. Time mostly spent getting ready for the upcoming race season. Kristian has both his karts checked over and ready to go. I'm still doing a bit of work on the Formula Car, but it should be ready for it's first event in Feb. No work has been done on the RallySaab or on the 'Mystery Machine'. Well, I may have found a transmission for the Mystery Machine, but haven't decided if I'll get it yet or not. Fiat X1/9 is kinda up for sale as we don't need a second Autocross or Time Trial vehicle. Hopefully someone will get it and finish it off and run it. Can't wait for the season to finally start. 12th - First Autocross event for the Flat Kart (KVT) and the Formula car (MVT). Formula car wouldn't start earlier in the week, found out is was bad/old fuel from a jug we had sitting around for a while. Fuel system purged and car fires good now. First event was COLD, windy and temp at about freezing. Huge event (for us) with 70 racers on hand. Due to problems at the event, we each only got to make 3 passes. Track was super slick and everyone had problems with it. Except maybe Kristian. I ended up spinning out on all 3 of my runs and getting 2 crappy times and a DNF. Oh well, there is always another event coming soon. Will be putting newer tires on before the next event and fixing a wiring problem that cropped up at the event. Kristian's kart had a flat on the left front which ended up shearing off the nut/bolt holding on the left side nerf bar during his last run. So we both have some work to do before the next event.
